Regarding Insurance Application Reference #2534001
Liability Insurance for GREYHAWK, a 1980 Island Yachts Peterson 34 Sloop.

Following up on the Recommendations in David Manning's survey report of July 9, 2005 (copy attached), so far I have accomplished the following:

Per Recommendation 1, I have checked for additional hull leaks. I have found no hull leaks other than those already noted. Rather, one or two ports or hatches had been left open during the passing of a major rain storm on July 7, 2005, which together with the leaking mast boot accounted for much of the water that had accumulated in the boat as noted by Manning on July 8, 2005.

Per parts of recommendation 3, I have serviced the engine intake seacock and replaced the plastic elbow with a bronze fitting.

Per part of recommendation 5, I have freed up the left burner control knob of the galley stove.

Per parts of recommendation 7, I have tightened the alternator and pump belts, replaced the raw water hoses on the engine, fitted a shut off valve on the fuel tank supply port, installed a primary fuel filter, and have worked on arresting the rust to the exhaust manifold.

Per part of recommendation 8, I have adjusted the stuffing box.

Relative to part of recommendation 9, I am satisfied with the current situation regarding the throttle and gear control cables and their leversthe small outside lever with black knob is throttle, and the large inside lever with pink knob is gear shift -- it works for me.

Per recommendation 10, I have obtained PFDs , replaced the Fire Extinguishers, procured Distress Flares, and replaced the EPIRB.

I have a detailed project list and plans for much additional work to be accomplished through the winter and spring, as I expect to move the boat from a private dock on Mill Creek, Annapolis, Maryland, to a mooring in West Boothbay Harbor, Maine, at the end of June 2006.

For what it is worth, pictures of the boat -- both in and out of the water -- can be viewed at http://sailing.thorpeallen.net/Greyhawk/
